November & December 2025 Newsletter

A vibrant autumn scene with colorful leaves.

A Note from Cheri

I hope this finds you well. I will be distributing this newsletter at our next meeting in October. Our October meeting is the Community fair, and I hope to see many of you there.

Currently we are sending out many letters as our distribution list has grown! We are delighted to welcome new members and hope you will find attending the group enjoyable. I’m going to trial providing the newsletter at our meetings however, anyone not attending will be sent one. The full schedule of events is completed, and I’m delighted that we have a varied programme for our 25/26 session September to July 26. Please remember to check our website for the audio version of this letter and the schedule of events is also available.

Upcoming Meetings & Events

Here are the details for our upcoming meetings. We have an exciting and varied programme planned and look forward to seeing you there.

November Meeting: A Special Research Opportunity

Guest Speaker: Ben Hunt from Siloton

We have been invited by the Macular Society Research Department to get involved in an exciting opportunity at our November meeting. Siloton, a Bristol-based company, is developing new technology for imaging the back of the eye and is keen to get input from those affected by chronic eye diseases.

The session will involve group discussions and individual 'stations' for one-to-one tasks. We are interested in speaking to everyone with a macular disease, with a few extra questions for those with wet AMD currently receiving injections.

Participation is voluntary, but this is a real opportunity to contribute to live research that will benefit the macular community in the future.

📅 Tuesday, November 11th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

December: Christmas Party

Entertainment & Festivities

Get ready for our annual Christmas Party! Join us for an afternoon of fun, entertainment, and festive cheer as we celebrate the holiday season together.

January: AGM & Tea

Annual General Meeting

Our AGM will be held in January, complete with scones and tea. We had a record attendance of 34 people last year, and I’m sure we can achieve that again with your support! Your ideas for the meeting are always welcome.
